First mix

So we just received our first very-rough mix of our soon to be released album. Sounds awesome so far, much better than we had anticipated. We're still hoping to have it ready for our October shows with C'mon and The Motorleague. Shane Kerr is doing a fantastic job and we can't thank him enough for all his help and hard work. We still have a few guitar tracks and back-up vocals to finish up, but that will be done in the coming days.

Bed Tracks and Rythym Guitar

So our goal this past weekend was to record 5 songs. We ended up completing the bass, drums, and rythym guitar for 14, so because of that we didn't get to the vocals or lead guitar. No problem though, Jason will be going in Wednesday night to record the vocals and Bruce will be laying down the leads this coming weekend. Things are sounding good so far and Shane has done a great job considering our time and money restraints. On the downside, Jasons' basement may never recover from the foul odours of 4 smelly musicians cramped into a tiny room with no windows. Filthy.

Cuban Assassins set to record!

So after almost a year of writing songs and recording shitty sounding 4-track demos with 2 microphones in our jam spot, we decided it's finally time for us to start recording something descent. We met with Shane Kerr of The Dean Malenkos and The Jon Epworth Band last night and it looks like we'll begin laying down tracks the weekend of September 14th-16th for a short EP that we will have ready by mid-October for our dates with C'mon.

Oh yeah, did I mention we're playing 2 shows with C'mon?...Fuckin' Eh! We could/should have played the entire east coast tour with them but a certain someone in our band will be too busy eating smelly cheese and wearing scarves and beret's in France instead of rocking out proper with one of the best bands in Canada for an entire week...ah well.

I've done some recording with Shane in the past so I know he's a great guy to work with. He's got good ideas and a great ear. Plus he's tall. Really tall. I don't know what that means but it can't be bad. Hopefully this fall/early winter we'll get into a proper studio to record a full length with a tour shortly after. We'd like to go across Canada but that may be impossible with our work/finances right now so maybe at least to Ontario and back...we'll see.

We'll keep updating this thing when we can. In the meantime, here is a picture of a heavy metal midget.
